So it turns out that 3.10 leader changes are not so much about the development team being against players having high level leaders within the first century or so, they are only against us manually leveling them. With Distinguished Admiralty, Vaults of Knowledge, Capacity Boosters, Aptitude, and Supremacy they are recruiting level 8-10 commanders. Probably something to do as a one-off in a game purely for the fun of it and never do again. If you particularly like one type of leaders and take its associated tradition, say Discovery for Scientists, you will be recruiting level 6-8 leaders of that type.Īnd if you go all out and start stacking Driven Educator scientists, you can presumably even end up recruiting only level 10 leaders in the end-game, though THAT certainly has major opportunity costs.
